MY PROJECT AND BLOG

if you didn't know, this whole semester i have been experimenting and developing this blog as part of my final project for my ASPC63 (aka NEW MEDIA) course. i have had so much fun posting things, mostly random and cool things from the web or just art that i have made that was fun adn cool. i even think i am going to continue with this blog and keep posting things that i have made and found. and i am so excited because i just got a kick ass internship with the ad agency AStone in San Francisco for the summer so i am going to try to post things and projects i will be doing and working on. hope you have enjoyed my blog so far.....

cool souvenir=really cool art idea

so cool/ my parents just got back from Puerta Vallarta, Mexico and brought me a really cool souvenir from their trip. they brought me a candy wrapper clutch purse. i guess my mom says that she bought this in the town and that they are made by women prisoners; i thought it was a cool idea, letting them make something and help others out. And then i found them on the internet and it was really cool; tis website that i found has a lot of recycled bags and stuff and i believe it is with some fair trade company/ organization thing.

cool cool.... as i was looking at more stencil graffiti art things on the internet i found this cool blog out of melbourne, australia that has a really sick art gallery on it. i dunno if the blog is for an art gallery or what but the art on it like my past blogs have inspired me to do more art and such....

after posting one video on graffiti i searched for more and saw this really cool one. i have seen people use stencils and then spray the and make really cool designs and art and here is a video on it: CHECK THIS OUT RANDOM ART LOVERS....

well it seems now that i have been showing random artsy ads, and art mediums that I have seen that i like and want to experiment with so i will continue that

i don't think i wanna experiment with graffiti in the form of tagging random buildings and wals in the city, but i think many of the artists that have done this have created many random and very beautiful designs. graffiti has such an interesting feel when you see it i think; it is ilegal but has such a beautiful art feel. at least some of it. i hate when people tag gang signs or random letters and names , but some is pretty and very well artistically done.

teach me to airbrush

i used to paint and draw myself; now it seems i do more arts and crafts. and i thought about trying airbrushing; i have seen so many random and sick airbrushed shirts and stuff. And here is a cool video showing some artist spraying his name. Airbrushing is an art form too : )

if anybody knows hoe to airbrush, comment on this with some kickass pointers, thnx

ANDY WARHOL....what else is there to say

as an artist and fan of art; one of my utmost fav artists' is none other than Andy Warhol; he has made some of the most rad art and became a total phenomenon. He was definitely the POP ART genius. And I have found the sickest website that's all about Warhol: go visit it for everything Warhol; and what's better they have the coolest Andy Warhol merch to buy too. http://www.warhol.org/

since i am an advertising major i always like to look and see what kind of cool ads there are on the scene. and i have always been a fan of VOLCOM ads especially. they are so unique and have a chill art vibe, and they have so many different artists that wok for them to create all their designs. every shirt design and skateboard deck is unique.

there are so many cool magazines a=on the market today...but one of my total favs right now is definitely NYLON magazine. It is one of the most up to date mags on fashion, and everything else thats a total trend right now. so my intentions was to make this a common blog where anyone could post their art; whether it be paintings, arts and crafts etc, but it proved harder than i thought. so, now i have a new intention to make my blog about random art stuff and happenings. one of the major things being supporting the arts. i mean i still haven't lost all hope of this blog being a rad art gallery, but....for now my blog is about random museums and other random cool art stuff....and tons of cool artwork that I find.

oh my gosh i have been a total slacker....i haven't made a post in days. sorry. but i do have a little excuse. i just started a new job and homework has consumed a little of my time. (trying to keep up on projects for class and trying to learn new programs.)

but.....IM BACK and want to post lots of fun postings. so watch out and check back for fun postings.

citizen journalism is so rad...yet random...i l0ve it!

after i was directed to The New Yorker magazine website for class, i found that they have so many blog postings and found myself intrigued in many. one of the blogs i liked is http://lipstick.com/ ;it has all of this random celebrity gossip. Some of the articles were very superficial but it goes to show me that blogs are a great outlet for citizen journalism. people can send in any gossip or info they have and then share their thoughts with anyone that goes onto the blog. the only problem is is that you have to be careful what you believe i suppose, but much of the info is lighthearted and fun that i enjoy on the blogs. Citizen journalism is also a great way to connect. Like other blogs, i am attempting to make one that connects people thru art. I want people to see my random art and photos and *stuff, and then share anything that they have made art or any random design-like on my blog. making a random "house of *stuff" lol........so enjoy and share
